AFTER a promising start to the season from Buttercross FC and Cavalier FC, both teams have lost their way of late, with neither side having won any of their last five Division Three outings.

Cavalier, who defeated the Butter boys 3-0 when the clubs met earlier in the season, had to settle for a point on this occasion as the game ended 2-2.

Jeremy Wiltshire and Mike Booth twice gave Cavalier the lead, James Flynn’s penalty restored parity for the first time and Ben Butterfield scoring the goal for Buttercross that saw the points shared.

Evana Designs were hoping to end a five-match winless run when they hosted FC Lacock at a Christie Miller, but like the first meeting of the clubs that Lacock won 3-0, the points went the way of the visitors to Melksham for a second time as they ran out 7-2 victors.

Ryan Ross netted a hat-trick for the winners, Josh Hard and Kieran Hard scored two each to make up the seven. Milo Pearson and Joseph Brickell replied.
