THREE of this terms Chantry Digital-sponsored Knockout Cup semi-finalists were decided at the weekend.

Both third division Potterne and second division White Horse made it through to the last four without kicking a ball after respective opponents Heytesbury and Warminster Town Reserves were unable to raise a team for their quarter-final ties.

Second division Holt will join Potterne and White Horse in the semi-final line up after they claimed a 2-1 extra time win at third division leaders Melksham Town A who were out of luck in front of goal as the woodwork denied them on four occasions.

Holt had the chance to open the scoring in the first half, but Zack Manna who has found the net 27 times to date, couldn’t believe it when his penalty was saved by keeper Luke Roberts to keep the score line goalless at the break.

Mark Reynolds made the breakthrough for Holt but his goal was cancelled out by Callum Demkiv whose goal took the tie to extra time where Natty Mills got the winner for Holt before he was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Freshford United were due to play Trowbridge Town Reserves in their delayed second-round match, but with the latter unable to raise a team, Chris Birleson’s Freshford has a walkover into the last eight where they will face Hilperton United with the winners of Januray’s tie joining Potterne, White Horse and Holt in the semi-final draw.
