FOR a second successive weekend only one Division Three match survived the weather.

The Hilperton United Reserves versus FC Box Steam Brewery was lost to a waterlogged pitch at Whaddon Lane and only a late pitch inspection at Stanley Park saw the green light given to the match between FC Trowbridge and an ever improving Stiffs outfit, who had already beaten them 2-1 earlier in the season.

This time Trowbridge turned the tables on their guests as a goal in each half earned Kevin Norris side a 2-0 victory in a match that saw the saw the Stiffs fail to reach the highs of previous games and Trowbridge earn their first win in four games.

Ben Howlett’s penalty just before half time gave Trowbridge the lead. Nathan Ball got on the end of a Howlett cross in the second to seal victory for the hosts who keeper Conor Green was scarcely called into action and the only chance Stiffs was brilliantly saved by the stand-in stopper.
