THE only Division One fixture that survived the elements at the weekend was the heavyweight clash at a bog like Christie Miller between leaders Potterne and second-placed Melksham Cosmos who knew that after last week's defeat at North Star it was a win or bust game for them as they chase down Craig Fisher’s side for top spot.

Cosmos rose to the occasion and a 4-1 victory not only avenged their 6-0 loss at the hands of Potterne on the opening day of the season, but reignited their title challenge.

A first-half hat-trick from Dan Moore and a Phil Carter effort, his first of the season had given Cosmos a 4-0 interval lead and although Neil Clark pulled a goal back for Potterne in the second half it was little more than a consolation as Cosmos ran out deserved winners.
