THE Mallard ended a five-match losing streak in Division Two with a 2-1 triumph over a Miller Sports B side they would want to play every week as they won the reverse fixture earlier in the season 4-1.

Adrian Riley’s goal for the Mallard saw them lead 1-0 at the break.

Miller’s top scorer Harry Waylen got his team back on level terms with his 28th goal of the campaign, but the Melksham-based side were denied a share of the spoils when Chris Edwards struck his first goal for the club to hand Mallard the win.

The first of back-to-back matches between Bath Road FC and White Horse (Sunday) B saw Tim Knight’s Bath Road side tale the honors courtesy of a fine 6-0 triumph, which will see them confident of completing a quick-fire double when they meet in Westbury next Sunday.

Goals from Luke Carrington and Matt White gave Bath Road a 2-0 advantage at the interval and their was no let up from the hosts in the second period as George Nash made it 3-0 before Carrington netted his second of the morning for 4-0. Jonny Ingram and Nick Manifold made up the half dozen.

Corsham Centre Youth travelled to Stanley Park for their meeting with Old Road missing a number of senior players and very much relying on youth, with five of the team being 19 or younger, and youth were prominent as Centre romped to a 16-0 win.

Eighteen-year-old Josh Bright opened the scoring on five minutes and quickly added three more by half time.

In between a superb individual goal from Adam Casserly who ran from his own half before slotting home, a class near post header from Mark Sharratt , an own goal and one from 17 year old Max Shackleford made it 8-0 at half time.

The second half was only five minutes old when Bright deftly knocked home his fifth and the Centres ninth, he was then substituted for Simon Gray playing his first game of the season and he obliged by scoring a second-half hat-trick.

A trademark Stuart Tutty header sandwiched between two left footed strikes from 18-year-old Tom Chandler, not to be out done Sam Hodsoll who lashed home a 30 yarder made the final score 16-0.

To their credit Old Road never gave up but with just 11 players there were some very weary players leaving the pitch at full time.

A 3-1 victory for Rowdy Cow Rowde FC at home to Melksham Forest Community Centre means that the villagers could still snatch a top three finish at the expense of Worton & Cheverell (Sunday) who have two matches remaining to Rowde’s five.

After a goalless first half the deadlock was broke by Dean Taccuso who put the Rowdy Cow in front.

Robbie Whyte added a second for the villagers before Lewis Taylor halved the deficit for the Foresters, but his goal was little more than a consolation as Rory Collins netted to earn Rowdy Cow their 3-1 success.
