TROWBRIDGE took advantage of Buckingham's travel problems to post a victory in their final league home match of the season.

The visitors' day got off to a bad start, with no coach arriving to take them to Doric Park, forcing them into their cars.

Trowbridge showed their intention to run the ball around from the start, Niall Jones making an early 20-metre break.

The home side's James Macfarlane got the first score, going over out wide before an overlap allowed Matt Johnson in for his first score.

Buckingham's big pack put the home side under pressure but the Trowbridge defence held firm and Ashley Chalk got in behind the visitors' defence to score under the posts, Lloyd Davis making no mistake with the conversion.

The visitors went back on the attack from the restart and were rewarded with a try from Harry Scarr before half time.

Trowbridge restarted and within minutes found themselves under pressure, the visitors pinning them back on their own line until the pressure told as Buckingham centre Ollie Crompton forcing his way over the line.

Trowbridge however did not panic, spreading the ball wide at every opportunity.

They were rewarded when Lloyd Davis made a break from the base of a set scrum slipping the ball to Macfarlane in support who went in under the posts for his second try.

Davis converted and, as Buckingham came back at them, added a further try.

Again the ball was spread wide, forcing an overlap from which Chalk ran in to score his second of the game, Davis missing the final conversion.

Trowbridge conclude their league campaign at champions-elect Chippenham tomorrow.
