RICHARD Hannon remains positive about the Classic prospects of Tiggy Wiggy, Estidhkaar and Ivawood despite their defeats at Newbury on Saturday.

The Marlborough trainer reports Tiggy Wiggy to still be on course for the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket although she was only third in the Fred Darling behind Restart.

Hannon was delighted with Estidhkaar's effort when just beaten a neck by Muhaarar in the Greenham and was not despondent after Ivawood's third place in the same race. Both colts are still in the frame for the Qipco 2000 Guineas.

"None of them won, but equally none of them ran that badly, and it was certainly not a disaster," he told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk.

"Obviously we would have been delighted for Tiggy Wiggy to have won the Fred Darling instead of finishing third, but the trials come plenty soon enough and she has taken time to come to herself this spring.

"She might have needed the race more than we envisaged but, though we rode her to get the trip, Hughesie (jockey, Richard Hughes) was adamant that she would not have won at five, six or seven (furlongs), so maybe we should put a line through the race and move on.

"The plan is still to aim Tiggy Wiggy for the 1000 Guineas and, hopefully, she'll come on a lot physically in the next two weeks. If we find at Newmarket that she doesn't stay, we can always come back to sprinting for Royal Ascot."

Hannon also remains optimistic about Estidhkaar and Ivawood.

"It was a very hot renewal of the Greenham, and Estidhkaar ran a super dress-rehearsal," he said.

"He looks every inch a Guineas horse, and he was coming back at the winner at the line, so you'd have to think that he would improve again going up a furlong.

"Estidhkaar definitely goes for the Guineas, and the plan is also to send Ivawood.

"Like Tiggy Wiggy, we'll monitor him through the week, but Ivawood will improve an awful lot on this first run. He is a big horse who carries a bit of weight, and we have not lost faith in him."
