PRESTIGE Bodyworks FC and Corsham CC Wildcats served up a feast of football at Biddestone Sports Ground as they battled to be crowned S.K. Fruits Ltd-sponsored Chippenham & District League Premier Division champions.

A win for Prestige would have given them the title, whereas victory for the Wildcats would leave them needing to avoid defeat against Somerford on Tuesday evening to finish in the number one spot.

In what was a brilliant game of football that was a credit to both teams and grass roots football it was Wildcats who prevailed as they won a thriller 5-4 and now Frank Rogers' side will hope that Somerford turn up at Yatton Road on Tuesday so they can complete the job.

Darrin Moss gave Wildcats the perfect start and when Chay Forester doubled their advantage it looked as if they would stroll to victory.

Prestige had other ideas and after a slow start they hit top gear and reduced the arrears through Stuart Field.

Craig Fisher drew Prestige level and when Tom Bentley bagged only his second goal of the season, Tyrone Prades side had somehow turned the game on its head to lead 3-2 at half time.

There was no let-up in the second half and like the first period Wildcats got off to a flyer and thanks to a second of the morning from Chay Forester parity was restored.

Adam Mitchell reclaimed the lead for the Wildcats and when Leigh Rogers added number five they had their two-goal cushion back.

Prestige threw everything at the Wildcats as they looked for a way back into the contest and when Jamie Treweke fired home on 85 minutes it was game on and thanks to some determined defending Wildcats held out in what was a frantic last few minutes to keep their title hopes alive.

Referee Adie Hunt had an excellent game in the middle.
