TROWBRIDGE captain Mike Reynolds hit a match-winning 111 not out as his team continued their 100 per cent start to the new season.

Reynolds’ men were eight-wicket winners away at Winsley and have now opened up a 10-point advantage at the top of the table.

“It was another convincing win for us. We are doing really well with bat and ball at the moment,” said Reynolds.

“It felt really good to get back in the runs. I’ve been crying out for some for a while now.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better wicket than Winsley’s to bat on and it’s always good to contribute to the result like that.”

The Trowbridge skipper was also in fine form with the ball and took 3-36 as the home side were bowled out for 194.

Alain Hewett (34), Simon Norris (22), Nick Gerrish (26), Kevin Hendy (23) and Dan Call (23) all got starts for Winsley but were all stopped in their tracks.

Overseas player Andrea Agathangelou was the pick of the bowlers with 4-36, while Scott Mitchell took 2-32.

Reynolds batted right through the innings in Trowbridge’s reply and was backed up well by Agathangelou (38) as they reached 196-2 with 16 overs in hand.

“We started off well with the ball. I felt I got on a bit of a roll and Luke Seymour did well as well,” added Reynolds.

“We tied them down for the first 15 overs before Scott came on and did his thing and then Andrea came on and got four wickets, which will be great for his confidence."

Tom Bowler blew Westbury & District away as they were beaten by 63 runs at home by Purton.

Bowler top-scored with 55 as Purton posted 237-6, with Tom Lucas the pick of the Westbury bowlers with 2-46.

Westbury’s reply was then decimated by Bowler’s haul of 4-38 as they finished on 174 all out.

Skipper Alex Senneck hit a valiant 79 in reply but could not find the required support to make a decent fist of the run chase.
