CORSHAM Town have appointed former Calne Town and Wootton Bassett Town manager Jeff Roberts as their new boss.

Roberts, a former player at the Southbank, was chosen to lead Town into next season's Toolstation League First Division campaign after Trevor Rawlings was relieved of his duties at the end of this season.

A Corsham Town statement said: "Corsham Town Football Club are delight to confirm that Jeff Roberts has been appointed club manager for the forthcoming season.

"After interviewing a number of strong applicants the committee decided that Jeff has the experience and knowledge of the Western League to take the playing side of the club forward.

"The former Corsham Town player has had previous managerial experience at Calne Town and Wootton Bassett, with cup successes at the former.

"Jeff has a good understanding of where we want to go with the playing side of the club and will be working with us to develop a stronger association with AFC Corsham and nurturing young local talent.

"He will retain both Antony Brown and Graham Learmonth as part of his management team.''

Rawlings had been in charge at the Southbank for four years, having previously been in charge of the reserves.
