FORMER Chippenham Town defender Tyrone Mings has reportedly compeleted his multi-million pound transfer to Premier League new boys AFC Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old left-back joined Championship side Ipswich Town late in 2012 and is now believed to have joined the newly-promoted Cherries in a deal worth up to £8 million.

Ipswich are believed to have paid Chippenham £10,000 for former Southampton academy player Mings and played a friendly in Wiltshire, but it is understood there is no sell-on clause in place to allow the Bluebirds to benefit from the latest move.

Mings, a former mortgage broker who moved to Hardenhuish Park from Yate Town in September 2012, just months after his father Adie departed his role as Chippenham manager, initially impressed Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy during a trial game before his move from Wiltshire was finalised.

The former Bluebird made 44 appearances for Ipswich last term and also played in the Championship play-offs, where the Suffolk outfit were bested by bitter rivals and eventual play-off winners Norwich City.
