TIME is running out on Winsley’s survival bid after their 12th defeat of the season last weekend left them with a 26-point gap to overturn.

Winsley have three games remaining to attempt to catch third-from-bottom Marlborough in the Glos/Wilts 2nd XI division following their 81-run home defeat to Hatherley & Reddings.

Jason Graham (92), Dave Stokes (62) and Jack Nickell (54) drove Hatherley to a dominant 321-4 before Giles Williams top-scored for the hosts with 46.

Winsley were eventually skittled for 240 in 43 overs.

Warminster are also locked in a battle to escape the drop zone in Premier Two and were sent back down to the bottom of the table on Saturday as their 138-run loss to Taunton St Andrews was coupled with Old Bristolians Westbury’s narrow victory over Downend.

Taunton batted first after winning the toss, with Tom Poole hitting an unbeaten 59 whilst Martin Jenkins (44) and Tom Knott (30) and Julian Wyatt (30) also found their range as they posted 276-7, Akash Saraswat taking 4-40.

But Warminster struggled with the ball, Joe Dufosee offering up the only real resistance as the visitors were skittled for 138 early in the 26th over.

In Premier One, Tom Abbott’s unbeaten knock of 107 helped Corsham post 236-8 at home to Swindon before Simon Crampton took 3-42 to help skittle their opponents for 178 early in the 41st over.

In the Wiltshire Division, Westbury hammered Great Bedwyn by seven wickets.

Westbury tore through the Bedwyn order with the ball, Sam McQueen taking 5-12 as the hosts were skittled for a miserly 70-9 in just over 30 overs.

James Hudson then top-scored with just 21 as Westbury cruised to 72-3 in 12 overs.

Trowbridge thumped Purton by eight wickets to remain third in the table.
