WARMINSTER Town have added teenage striker Jack Richardson to their ranks following the youngster's departure from National League leaders Forest Green Rovers.

Richardson, a prolific scorer in Rovers' youth system, lives in Warminster and links up with Derek Graham's side after helping Rovers' Academy to win the South West Counties Youth League for a third consecutive season last term.

Graham said: "He scored 40 or so goals in the U18 league last season so we're pleased to have him with us.''

The Warminster chief was less impressed by was Saturday's 1-1 draw against local rivals Calne, although Town did retain their position at the top of the table in the aftermath as both Corsham Town and Wells City lost.

Dan Price's second-half header from a corner was cancelled out by Glenn Armstrong's goal direct from a corner for Calne as the home side dropped points for only the second time in their opening league games.

Graham said: "We were a bit disappointed with it but I think a draw was about right.

"In the first half was as bad as we've played all season. Calne must have had about 60 per cent of the ball and although they didn't really look like scoring, we were just not there.

"Perhaps it was a case of us being a young side, near the top of the league and they thought 'this will be easy', but Calne are not a bad side.''

"In the second half we changed the system and we played very well.

"Dan Price got his goal but then we should have stopped their goal from happening. It was a great goal straight from the corner, but we were disappointed we only got a point..''

Graham, whose side host Pewsey Vale in the FA Vase this weekend, added: "It's early days (in the season) and if we are in the top half we will be pleased, but now we're up there we'd like to think that perhaps we can do a little better than that.''
