THE 50th campaign of the Chippenham & District Sunday League gets underway this weekend with locally based Shoestrings Chargrill having signed a deal to sponsor the League for the next three seasons.

Corsham CC Wildcats will kick off the defence of their Premier Division title with a tricky match at last terms Division One winners Potterne CFC.

Cons FC host The Castle FC, who won the title back in 2014 but failed to deliver last term and will be missing the suspended Tom Perkins, Dan Sloan and Doug Dickson for the opener, they should start with a win.

Westbury Rangers, who had a campaign to forget last term, entertain a Melksham Cosmos side that finished third in Division One.

White Horse begin by hosting last term's runners up Prestige Bodyworks, who beat them 1-0 in both meetings last season.

Division One

AFTER beating Corsham Centre Youth to the Division Two title last term, Ben Redford’s Bremhill View side who dropped just two points last term, will be the team that everyone will be gunning for.

Their opener couldn’t be harder as it pits them against local rivals North Star FC.

Bremhill’s main challengers will again be Corsham Centre, who welcome Bath Road FC to Meriton Avenue for their opener.

Calne BFC (formerly Talbot FC) were beaten twice by Miller Sports A in the previous campaign, losing 4-2 on both occasions. Miller are tipped for a win as are Rowdy Cow Rowde who entertain FC Pig & Whistle at Sands Lane.

Division Two

MELKSHAM side The Grapes United will be firm favourites to be crowned Division Two winners.

Sutton Benger are the team who have the job of denying Grapes a 21st straight win on Sunday.

Corsham Park have strengthened their team and Martin Perrett’s side should have few problems in claiming a third straight success over FC Lacock.

Lavington Rangers (formerly Cannings Rangers) will square up against FC Bradford, who were runners up in Division Three last season/ Miller Sports B take on Christian Malford.

Division Three

The league welcomes seven new sides and all of them are scheduled for action on the opening day.

Former Frome Sunday League sides FC St George, Fox & Hounds (Warminster) and Warminster Wanderers make their bow against respective opponents 91-92 FC, who like their opponents are newcomers, White Horse B, who suffered relegation from Division Two and Westbury Conservative Club.

Cavalier, who drew a recent friendly with new boys Calne United, will be hoping that they can do a lot better when the real action gets underway.

Forest AFC (formerly Melksham Forest Community Centre) take on Evana Designs, who have Paul Revening in charge of things and he will be looking to lead his team to a first win in 16 outings.

Semington FC and The Dursley Arms may both be new to the league but each side are packed with experienced players which make them front runners for promotion.
