MELKSHAM put in a strong second-half performance to defeat Devizes 2nd 48-10 in Dorset and Wilts One North.

With the teams tied at 10-10 at half-time, thanks to Melksham tries from Gareth Evans and Matt Glover, the visitors went on the rampage in the second half with six unanswered scores.

Glover added to his first half try soon after the restart, while Simon Foster touched down after starting off a backs move.

Simon Down was then driven in, before Josh Partridge raced over following through a kick ahead to get his second after the restart.

The final two tries came from strong runs from Charlie Radcliffe and Evans.

Skipper Callum Hurn said: “We gave away too many penalties in the first half, allowing Devizes to stay in the game. Once we cut that out, our game started to click and the tries followed. The team display in the second half was terrific.”
