GUY Cunnington is on the road to following in the footsteps of Frome-born Jenson Button in the British Karting Championships.
The Super 1 series takes place all across the UK over seven rounds, with each round including timed qualifying, two heat races, one final and a grand final.
And Cunnington, in the Honda Cadet class, racing for the Factory BRK Team, finished in third place.
The 13-year-old has enjoyed lots of success in his early racing career, winning three championships last year, and is now seeded third in Britain. He now looks to move up to the faster Minimac karts.
The Super 1 championship has run for more than 33 years, is featured on Motors TV and YouTube, and has been won by the like of F1 world champions Button, Lewis Hamilton and David Coulthard.
