AFTER disposing of Combe St Nicholas Reserves in the previous round of the Somerset Junior Cup, Chris Birleson’s Freshford United side had to make another 45-mile trek to Crewkerne to take on high flying Percy Street Premier division high flyers West & Middle Chinnock.
Once again the trip was a good one as Freshford booked their spot in the next round thanks to a 3-2 win.
After a goalless first half that saw Freshford denied by an impressive performance from the hosts' goal keeper Steve Roddy final broke the deadlock after being set up by Dave Percival.
Percival made it 2-0 following good work from Craig Brown and a fine individual effort for Theo Sing on his debut put Freshford 3-0 up before they conceded two goals in the final 15 minutes to set up a tense finale.
