WITH Division Three leaders The Dursley Arms without a game, Cavalier took full advantage to claim a share of top spot thanks to a 7-2 win at FC St George who they had beaten 7-1 a fortnight ago.

Cavalier welcomed back defender Dave Young after a five-week absence through injury and although he never had a lot to do he was happy to of got through the game unscathed as his team had the game won at half time.

Matt Hale and Roger Wiltshire put Cavalier 2 up before Craig Sheppard reduced the arrears. Wiltshire added his second and Ashton Schorah made it 4-1 prior to a Adam Bewley double making it 6-1.

St George and Craig Sheppard scored their second ahead of Adam Bewley completing the scoring with his third of the game that took his tally to date to 10.

After picking up their first win of the season last weekend Semington FC followed that up with an 8-0 success over basement side Calne United who they had beaten 3-1 in the Knockout Cup earlier in the season.

Chris Dore’s bullet header set Semington on their way, an own goal doubled the villagers advantage. Mike Falzon’s cross was headed in by Dore to make it 3-0 and Rich Allum sweet left-footed finish from inside the box took it to 4-0.

Dan Phillips left-footed strike, a penalty for Rich Allum, Eddie Janion’s header into the top corner and a fine good turn and finish from Matt Jenkins made up the eight. Semington’s keeper Matt Russell also saved a first-half penalty when they were 3-0 up.

From the three sides who joined the league from the Frome League at the start of the season, Warminster Wanderers looked to be the one who have settle in the quickest. A 4-1 home triumph for Jeff Glasson’s teams over 91-92 FC moved them up to third place in the standings.

Phil Lucas with his first goal of the season saw his opener for Warminster cancelled out by a penalty from Ben Forester, but his goal proved to be little more than a consolation for 91-92 as Jamie Howse reclaimed the lead for Warminster prior to half time.

Haydyn Glasson scored his first goal of the season to give Warminster some breathing space and when Lucas fired home his second of the morning it was game over for 91-92 FC who will hope to get their season back on the right track when they host Semington FC next week.

White Horse B and Evana Designs fought out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Leighton Sports Centre, but of the two teams it will be Evana who are the happiest as they came from behind three times to claim a share of the spoils. Sam Robbins cross-cum-shot put White Horse in front on 30 minutes, just two minutes later Ant Lamb had restored parity for Evana.

Robbins scored from the penalty spot to restore his teams lead on 40 minutes but once again and just another two minutes after taking the lead White Horse surrendered it as Bradley Archard squared things up for Evana.

With 87 minutes on the clock, Sam Robbins completed his hat-trick when he scored his second penalty of the morning and that goal really should have seal victory for the White Horse men, but just like they did in the first half they couldn’t preserve their lead and Evana stole a point when John Fenwick put through his own net to tie the game at three each.
