THE only match involving a Trowbridge & District League side that beat the weather was the Wiltshire Junior Cup match between Salisbury League outfit Stockton & Codford and the league’s own Hilperton United.
With Freshford United or Heytesbury destined for the final, Hilperton were hoping to set an all-Trowbridge League final.
Hilperton, who knocked out cup favourites Tawny Owl in the previous round, gave it their best shot but missed chances proved costly as Stockton claimed a comfortable 5-1 win.
Stockton led 2-0 at the break and added a further two before Bradley King-Taylor pulled a goal back for the visitors.
That was little more than a consolation as the hosts netted again before the final whistle to claim their spot in the final.
