THE match of the day in the Premier Division saw second-placed Goatacre CC FC host third-placed AFC Melksham in the first of back-to-back fixtures that could help determine if either team will feature in what promises to be an exciting climax to the season.

Goatacre started well pressing the visitors in there own half for the first 15 minutes but without any troubling shots to Nick Evans in Melksham' s goal.

The second half was all Melksham Sean Fordham hit a piledriver that was cruelly deflected passed Sheen Preen in the home goal and Josh Robinson then scored a second only for it to be disallowed for offside.

Melksham counter-attacked with the speedy Mo Santli who chased on to a Sean Fordham pass to slot home the killer second and clinch a 2-0 victory.

Corsham CC Wildcats kept their slim chance of successive top-flight titles alive courtesy of an impressive 3-1 victory over struggling White Horse A, whose defeat was their 11th match on the bounce without a win.

Adam Mitchell, Darrin Moss and Sean Thomson found the back of the net for the home side with William Wilkins-Pratt managing Horse's response.

Chippenham based rivals, The Pack Horse FC and Cons FC met at Stanley Park and having lost the earlier meeting 2-0 Pack Horse were again beaten thanks to goals from Christopher Jenkins, Harry Myles and Scott Nash.
