DANNY Talbot came close to equalling his season’s best run in the 200m at the Anniversary Games in London this evening.
The Trowbridge Tornado who heads out to the Rio Games next month was up against Jamaican ace and world record holder Usain Bolt, who won in 19.9 seconds, at the Olympic Stadium.
Starting in lane two, Talbot ran a fast bend but began fell away to finish seventh in 20.38, just 0.01 shy of his season’s best, while fellow Brit Adam Gemili finished third in a season’s best in 20.07.
