BRADFORD Town claimed another three points after a 3-0 home win over Chipping Sodbury Town as they remained unbeaten in the Toolstation League Premier Division on Saturday.

Kane Simpson and Matt Morris’ brace netted the goals for Danny Greaves’ men with a trip to Buckland Athletic next up on Saturday.

Leaders Melksham Town are currently one point ahead of Bradford as they too registered three points.

Melksham were 5-2 winners away at Clevedon Town, Luke Ballinger and Gary Higdon both scoring twice in addition to Lee Davidson’s solitary strike, Darren Perrin’s men going to Hallen on Tuesday.

Chippenham Park were on the wrong end of a 6-3 thriller at Wellington in the Toolstation League First Division on Saturday.

Nick Maggs’ side were 3-2 down at half time, but were unable to keep up with the hosts as they eventually lost 6-3, Danny Sibley, Mark Robinson and Lewis McCarron getting the goals.

Park will now try to and return to winning ways when they host high flyers Malmesbury Victoria on tomorrow night. The Vics had a more pleasant Saturday afternoon as they recorded a routine 2-0 win away at Ashton and Blackwell United, thanks to Sam Parker and Shane Bumphrey.

Elsewhere, Corsham followed up last week’s 6-0 loss with a clinical 3-0 win over Cheddar and welcome Oldland Abbotonians to the Southbank Ground on Wednesday night. Devizes Town claimed a 2-1 win over Welton Rovers, with Jaime Wallen and Robert Mitchell ensuring the points stay with home side.

Darren Walters’ team are now in 13th place ahead of their trip to Norton Lane where they will face Hengrove Athletic.

George Bendle was Westbury’s hero this weekend as he got a goal in both halves as James Goddard’s team edged out Portishead Town.

United are now up to fifth in the table but will have to turn their attention to the FA Vase as they host Cribbs next Saturday.

Mid-table Calne Town bagged their third 1-0 win in a row away to Bishops Lydeard, Stuart Windsor’s header claimed all three points.

Tuesday’s trip to Keynsham Town is what stands in the way Neurin Jones’s men getting a fourth consecutive victory. Meanwhile, Warminster Town’s poor form continues as they have now only won twice in their last 11 games as they recorded a 1-1 draw at home to Radstock Town with Thomas Welch nothing for the hosts.

With just two points separating them and bottom club Almondsbury UWE, Mark Breffit will demand a different outcome after Tuesday’s game against Roman Glass St George.
