CLARRIE Dunbar's superb unbeaten run in national team competitions this season has been extended with victories in the men’s Denny Cup, men’s Over 60s double rinks and mixed Egham Trophy, writes DAVE EATON.

Meanwhile Christie Miller men are still running in the O60s double rinks and made a winning start like Clarrie to their 2016/17 Wessex League campaign in the central section last weekend.

Dunbar men followed up a 79-58 victory over Christie Miller at the beginning of the month in the Denny Cup (top inter-club championship) with a hard-fought 77-71 third-round win last weekend over Weston-Super-Mare indoor side St Andrews.

They took the honours on three of the four rinks but lost by nine shots on the other with Keith Bailey’s foursome producing the biggest winning margin of eight shots.

Clarrie will now face in round four (last 32) on Saturday December 10 top Gloucestershire indoor side MidGlos (Brockworth, Gloucester).

Dunbar men’s Over 60s double rinks side move forward into round two after an emphatic 48-21 first round victory over North Wilts B winning easily on one rink and drawing on the other.

They are due to meet Bristol in round two on November 29.

Last season, Dunbar set a club record by reaching the semi-final in the Egham Trophy, mixed inter-club championship.

They are still on course this season to at least emulate that achievement after an emphatic 81-42 success over Clevedon winning on all four rinks.

In the last 32 this Sunday, Clarrie face a stern task as they meet MidGlos two rinks home and two rinks away.
