HARLEQUINS director of rugby John Kingston believes a watching Eddie Jones may have been encouraged by the performances of the wingers on show in his side's Aviva Premiership win over Bath.

With Elliot Daly seeing red during England duty on Saturday, the likes of Marland Yarde and Semesa Rokoduguni had an opportunity to push their case for selection ahead of next week's Australia clash.

And both men delivered stand-out performances in front of England coach Jones - although it was Yarde's Quins who prevailed 21-20 at the Stoop.

Kingston said: "Marland played well and I think Eddie was here, so he'll have been impressed with both our wingers.

"Rokoduguni played well too, he had less involvement because he had less ball but he'll be impressed with Marland's attitude too.

"He is a powerhouse, he's almost an energy barometer for us, so physical and he chases everything."

Tim Visser and Karl Dickson touched down in either half for Harlequins, who needed Tim Swiel's 75th-minute penalty to prevail as they managed to maintain their unbeaten run at home this season.

"I'm delighted," Kingston added. I thought for a lot of the game we were the better team but it's credit to Bath that they hung on in there and you can see why they've lost only one league game before this.

"There were eight academy English players that played for us today and I think that's a record and we always hope they're getting the right experience and that they can express themselves."

Bath, whose only previous defeat in the Aviva Premiership this season came against Leicester in September, also scored two tries, with Kane Palma-Newport and Nathan Catt crossing.

Tom Homer converted both and added two penalties to put the visitors 20-18 ahead, but Swiel had the last word as he finished with 11 points.

"We could have snuck it but I think the reality was we were probably always chasing the game," said Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder.

"We couldn't exit our 22 and when we did, we were kicking on the full and allowed them to build pressure.

"We need to be a little more clinical going forward but there were good performances. I thought Rokoduguni played well.

"I think it would be deserved if he got called up for England next week. That's not my call, if he's not playing, though we'd love to have him next Saturday."
