THE top two sides at the top of Division Three continue to trade blows and, for the time being, Box Rovers, who secured a ninth straight win thanks to a 6-1 victory at Forest AFC, remain six points clear of closest rivals Faded FC.

Box led 1-0 at the break through a James Gardner effort.

After the break they were more clinical in front of goal as Justin Flowers helped himself to a hat-trick and Liam Fullam and Adam Taylor both netted to make up the six.

Substitute Harry Brennard powered home a bullet header to give Forest their consolation.

Leading 1-0 at half time courtesy of a Matt Minnis goal, Faded FC found their scoring boots in the second period at home to Fox & Hounds (Warminster) who they eventually beat 6-2.

Minnis scored three more to claim a four-timer which took his tally for the season to 29 in just eight matches.

A first goal for the club from Matty Hall and a Dan Jones effort made sure that Greg Richardson’s brace for Fox & Hounds was nothing more than a consolation.

North Star Club and AFC Rowde played the first ever Chippenham League match on the 3G pitch at Beversbrook, Calne and North Star clinched a 2-1 success.

First-half goals for Joe Childs and Jake Mizen from the penalty spot looked as if North Star were set to record another convincing win over Paul Revening’s side who they beat 8-0 earlier this season.

That was not to be the case as Owen Thomson gave Calne a second-half lifeline and although they couldn’t find an equaliser they made things hard for North Star as they battled to a fourth straight win.

Foresters Arms ended a three-match losing run with a 9-1 victory over a White Horse (Sunday) B side who, after taking an early lead, would have hoped that their own five-match losing run was about to come to an end.

Chris Storey’s opener for White Horse was to count for nothing as, Nathan Drew, Joe Reed and Sean Horobin all scored two apiece and singles for Kyle Palmer, David Williams and Rhys Edwards won it for Foresters.

Warminster Wanderers consolidated third spot thanks to a 6-2 triumph at home to Calne United for whom it was their first loss in four outings.

Matt Fenn and James House were on target for Calne, however their first half goals were just consolations as Phil Lucas’ double gave him his first goals for the club.

Jamie Howse, Paul Lawson and a Alex Bates brace wrapped up victory for Warminster.
