WESTBURY Ladies warmed up for their likely South West North Two title decider with Devizes a week on Sunday as they dismissed Bath Ladies 2nd 27-5 at Knott Field.

Number eight and skipper Anna Hemingway led the charge, her carry into the opposition 22 setting up the position from which she herself charged over the try line for her seventh try of the season.

Westbury went straight back into attack from the kick off with fine carries from Kerry Ackerman and Amy Bates allowing the ball to be worked wide to wing Vicky Stanley for the second try.

With fly-half Becs Lamb controlling matters, a trademark run from Lana Plummer allowed her to smash through five defenders on her way to the try line.

In the second half more good work from the backs drove Westbury up the pitch with centre Cara Fitzgerald running a fine angle to ghost through the defence and score under the posts, Plummer adding the conversion

From a long kick down field, Plummer gathered and committed the defence, spinning the ball wide for Stanley to go over for her second.

Bath replied with their solitary score and the game was halted early by an injury to Westbury prop Lizzie West who was checked over at hospital before being sent home.
