WESTBURY United manager Neil Kirkpatrick claims the best is yet to come from his side as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Portishead Town.

Kirkpatrick took charge of the club alongside his son Joe at the beginning of the month after the club parted company with James Goddard.

Since then the club have failed to register a win with Otis Young's goal was merely a consolation during the week, following a 3-1 weekend loss at Radstock Town.

Despite the poor form, Kirkpatrick doesn't think there is any reason to be concerned as he and his son continue to implement their philosophy on the squad.

"There are a lot of positives to take from the game, it is still very early, we are still assessing the squad," said Kirkpatrick.

"(In) the second half they were excellent and did what we asked them to at half time. At the minute we aren't quite putting a performance together for 90 minutes.

"They're low on confidence and we lack a little bit of experience, you learn more in games like that than you do when you win 3-0."

Since their arrival the new management duo have only been able to have one training session due to a hectic fixture schedule.

Kirkpatrick also said they plan to bring in some fresh faces over the coming weeks as they look to bolster competition within the squad.

"The attitude and commitment from the players is absolutely spot on, I can't fault that at all," he added.

"We are a very young side and they are going to make mistakes. Winning is a habit and losing is a habit.

"We are going to add to the squad for competition for places, there is no point in bringing in anybody, they have to add to what we have here."

Corsham Town bounced back from last week's frustrating defeat with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bishop Sutton. Ben Pring was a hat-trick hero with Dan Harvey joining him on the scoresheet.

Warminster Town produced a dominant performance at Weymouth Street as they were 5-0 winners against Portishead Town.

Mark Robinson and Sam Clift gave the hosts a steady start, Kevin Shinn then added a third to hand Mark Breffit's troops a comfortable lead.

Josh Ferguson checked in with the fourth with the assist coming from Francois Allen, who turned from provider to scorer as he rounded off the 5-0.
