MELKSHAM-BASED The Grapes United remain top of the Division One table, however their 4-1 defeat at the hands of title-chasing rivals Pheasant FC has left the door ajar for Del Llewellyn’s side to deny them a hat-trick of top place finishes since they joined the league in 2014.
Pheasant, who are currently third in the standings and five points behind Grapes with four games in hand, took the lead courtesy of a stunning long range volley from Joe Hylands.
Nick Ridout got Grapes back on level terms and only Pheasant keeper Llewellyn denied them from taking the lead with a number of fine saves.
From one of them Pheasant broke away and regained the lead with Josh Legg firing home from 16 yards and a second from Legg made it 3-1 at the break.
Nick Manifold confirmed the victory when he made it 4-1 in the final five minutes.
