PROP Shaun Knight says he and his Bath team-mates do not need any geeing up as they prepare to bounce back from their European heartbreak this weekend.

Last Sunday, Todd Blackadder’s side missed out on a place in the European Challenge Cup final after an agonisingly late defeat in their last-four clash away at Stade Francais.

As Bath get ready to return to Aviva Premiership action, they now have the small matter of a West Country derby at home to Gloucester to ease themselves back in.

The unique nature of the game is not lost on Knight, who was born and raised in rugby heartlands of Gloucester before coming through the ranks at the Cherry and Whites.

“We shouldn’t need any help picking ourselves up, it’s a massive game,” said the 27-year-old, who joined Bath via Newport Dragons.

“We’ve had a disappointing result but now a week later, we have one of the biggest games of our season.

“I have played in a few of these games for Gloucester and I played in one for Bath in the Anglo Welsh Cup earlier in the season. It’s a great game to be involved in.

“I have still got a few friends up at Gloucester but Bath are my club now and I don’t want them to lose at the Rec against Gloucester.”

Meanwhile, flanker David Sisi will leave Bath at the end of the season.

Having joined the club ahead of the 2014/15 season from London Irish, the back row has made more than 20 appearances in Blue, Black and White but has been plagued by injuries during his spell at the Rec and spent a season on loan back Irish.

Sisi said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Bath. Whilst it’s been frustrating at times due to injuries, I’ve played with some really talented players and worked with some very knowledgeable coaches here, and I feel I’ve progressed as a player.

“I’m looking forward to the next stage of my career, and excited about what the future holds.”
