MALMESBURY racer Louis Harvey pulled off outstanding recovery drive to finish 12th at round five of the Superone Series British Karting Championship after shrugging off a number of setbacks.
Harvey, who turned 13 last Friday, pulled off a superb drive in the final, having started from 26th at the North Wales GYG kart track.
Despite a good practice session he was shunted on to the grass just two laps into his qualifying session, leaving him 22nd of 30 drivers.
A fine first heat saw him cross the line in 15th and he moved up to 11th in the second race before another incident sent him on to the grass and forced him to settle for 28th.
In the first final Harvey roared up to 11th before being struck and spinning down to 26th before a flawless drive in the second race saw him claw his way back up to 12th.
Harvey races in the Shenington Superprix this weekend.
