ATHLETICOW Moodrid and FC Bradford went into their meeting at Nurstead Road as the top two sides in the Shoestrings-chargrill sponsored Chippenham Sunday League, Premier Division and thanks to a 6-4 success it was Moodrid who remain in the number one spot.

Luke Enderby gave Moodrid the lead from the penalty spot.

Goals from Mark Maguire and Ashley Styles put Bradford in front before Jamie Walters got Moodrid back on level terms.

A second from Walters gave his team the lead early in the second half only for Maguire to draw Bradford level.

An own goal and two more for Walters put Moodrid 6-3 up before Styles netted a late fourth for Bradford.

FC Lacock kicked off their first-ever top flight campaign with a 3-1 win at Westbury Rangers and a 7-2 win on home soil saw them complete a quick-fire double over Shaun Gardiner’s side who played the whole 90 minutes with just 10 men.

Lacock got off to a flyer and were 2-0 up inside the opening five minutes, Jake Packer may have pulled a goal back for Rangers on 7 minutes but Lacock were always on top despite Marc Lanfear scoring a second for Westbury to make it 3-2 before the floodgates finally opened.

Josh Hard with two, and singles for Jake Brewer, Ben Lewis, Patrick Kapelka, Kieran Hard and Mark Bowsher made up the villagers' seven.
