DAN Kovacs bagged a hat-trick as Westbury United maintained their pursuit of Toolstation League First Division leaders Keynsham Town with a 4-0 victory over Bishops Lydeard on Saturday.

Lydeard had an early goal disallowed but Josh Ferguson put home side Westbury ahead after 12 minutes after good work from Kovacs.

Kovacs' second-half treble wrapped up the points, his third being a fine effort from outside the area.

Corsham Town claimed a welcome 2-0 win at Ashton & Backwell to move away from the foot of the table.

Jamie Harrison's side won their first league game for more than a month as Leigh Rogers fired them ahead from the penalty spot in the first half and Tony McElhone doubled the advantage in the second period.

Ed Wilkins' strike for Malmesbury Victoria proved merely a consolation in their 4-1 defeat at Chard Town, while the matches for Calne Town and Warminster Town at Portishead Town and Radstock Town respectively were postponed

Alexander Cumming's goal at the start of the second half inflicted a first defeat in 12 Toolsttaion League Premier Division games on Melksham Town as they went down 1-0 at home to Chipping Sodbury Town.

Bradford Town are second in the table following their 3-3 draw at Bitton, Will Hailston, Rickie Scott and Sam Jordan on target as Danny Greaves' men surrendered a 3-1 lead.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Royal Wootton Bassett Town lost 3-1 at Binfield, Lewis Waldon hitting a late consolation for Bassett.
