HAVING extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division table with a 4-2 midweek win at Malmesbury Victoria Development, Melksham Town Reserves saw it trimmed to five points by Cricklade Town on Saturday.

Rhys Talmash and Dan Sibley were among Melksham’s scorers at the Flying Monk Ground, Lewis King and Robin Collier with the replies, but Saturday's first-against-third clash with Kintbury Rangers was one of three matches to fall victim to the elements.

Cricklade took advantage as they thrashed Ludgershall Sports 7-0, having now scored 27 in three games against Sports this season.

Devan Bryan netted a hat-trick to take his tally to 36 for the season, while Matt Bennett, Tom McCulloch, Devon McCalla and Terry Dearing also found the target, Cricklade also boasting a game in hand on the leaders.

Wroughton’s improvement continued as they saw off Malmesbury Victoria Development 6-1 at the Weir Field, Shane Hibbert notching his 25th goal of the season during the course of his treble, while Chris Flanagan, Ollie While and Sam Long also scored to lift their side to fourth. Kyle Witt replied for Vics.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town lost out 4-0 at Corsham Town Reserves, for whom a brace of goals from Matt Legg plus efforts by Nick Chandler and Josh Bright secured a third win in four games.

Marlborough Town went seventh after a second 3-1 win over Pewsey Vale Development in the last three weeks.

Aaron Presley, Jordan Ball and Valentin Rascanescu were Marlborough’s marksmen, as Tom Ballard’s penalty provided the Pewsey reply.

Devizes Town Reserves clinched a 4-0 win over Bassett Bulldogs, who remained bottom of the table.

Darren Lewis opened the scoring and Robbie Mitchell made it 2-0.

Sam Dodds added the third and Mitchell’s second rounded off the scoring.
