POTTERNE 2nd ended the unbeaten Division One start of Avebury thanks to a superb batting performance.

Avebury went into the match off the back of two opening wins, but were under the cosh as Potterne amassed 339-9 in their 45 overs, opener Jack Harley hitting 115 and Sam Gaiger 78.

The reply didn’t get close despite 52 from Rob Gater as Gedeon Charles took 3-29 to end Avebury’s attempt at 195 after 38 overs.

Winsley made it two wins from two with an eight-wicket demolition of Box, who were dismissed for just 66.

Jonny Benstead took 5-14 for the villagers and Simon Orchard 3-10, and Winsley knocked off the target inside 21 overs.

Great Bedwyn registered a first win, edging champions Bear Flat by four runs after making 204-8, with Richard Bosson scoring 67.

Mark Gunning hit 71 for Bear, but led by Ben Smith (3-25), Bedwyn stopped them on 200-8.

Malmesbury were 75-run victors over Nationwide House, George Royle hitting 72 of their 199-8 before Stuart Brazington took 5-21 to helped skittle House for 124.

Paul Davies hit an unbeaten 61 and Wahab Khalid 50 for Swindon 2nd against Hinton Charterhouse before Scott McNeill took 4-35 to halt the reply at 185.

Division Two

SWINDON United Churches were soundly beaten by six wickets at Beckington, slipping to their first defeat.

Mark Quamil (4-17) helped skittle Churches out for 95, with Beckington easing to their target.

Chippenham 2nd’s Matt Cole took 7-46 to help restrict Biddestone 2nd to 181-9, Thomas Walker (52) and Tim Knight (45) heading up the batting.

Harry Beazer took 3-15 in the Chippenham reply, which was stopped 24 runs short at 157.

Tom Pitman scored 88 and Lance Harwood 43 for Warminster 2nd against Lacock, for whom Jamie Forester took 3-62 as Warminster reached 230-4.

Lacock’s reply ended at 150, despite 41 from Matt Loft as Martin Bridle took 3-26.

Division Three

HEYTESBURY & Sutton Veny top the standings after dismissing Bradford on Avon for just 58 and had wrapped up victory by the 12th over of their reply.

Goatacre 2nd are also unbeaten, Rahn Heer taking 4-27 as Sandeep Patil scored 58 of Chippenham 3rd’s 190 all out.

Toby Horton’s 90 and Stephen Baker (76) knocked off the bulk of the runs as Goatacre eased to a six-wicket triumph.

Mark Styles took 3-38 to help Burbage & Easton Royal 2nd stop Wroughton Wranglers at 178-8, before John Street (67 not out) and Haydn Amor (52) got Burbage to their target for the loss of three wickets.

Ravi Tiwari took 3-12 as White Horse ended Keevil’s innings at 94. The Keevil fightback, led by Josh Hamblin (4-7) was not enough to deny Horse victory by two wickets.

Division Four

JACOB Rogers (51) and Dominic Shearn (46 not out) led Devizes 2nd to 209-8 against Nationwide House 2nd, whose reply ended at 100 as Shearn took 4-22 and John Dunford 3-24.

Mark Vincent and Darren Fisher both scored 58 in Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd’s 194-8 against Seagry and three wickets each for Ryan Vincent (3-22) Harry Griffin (3-7) and Prav Chahal (3-7) skittled out the villagers for 42.

Combe Down continued their confident start with victory over Ramsbury.

Pete Osmond’s 60 got Ramsbury to 190-7. In reply, Ramkumar Vijayakumar (58), Andy Hulbert (57) and Dom Howes (48) helped the Downers reach 191-4.

Division Five

RUSSELL Collins (112) and Joe Veacock (111) shone as Melksham earned a dominant win at Royal Wootton Bassett 3rd.

Their efforts helped Melksham reach 289-5 but despite opener Yasir Irshad’s 42 and an unbeaten 55 from James Smith, Bassett could only reach 174 all out, with two wickets each for Gary Ings, Chris Long, Collins and Chris Singh.

Westbury 2nd had Ian Pinchen’s 81 to thank for their 217 all out against Erlestoke, for whom Mark Mullis took 4-44.

Erlestoke’s reply concluded at 107 all out, Clark Evans taking 4-33.

Peter Turner hit an unbeaten 96 as Goatacre 3rd (146-3) overhauled Bathford (142 all out).

Joe Dunn took 5-23 for Purton 2nd against Collingbourne, for whom Henry Warren scored an unbeaten 50, Purton getting to their target for the loss of seven wickets.

Division Six

NIC Bruce hit 123 as Sherston Magna scored a 323-9 against Bradford on Avon 2nd, whose reply subsided to 58 all out as Andy Pegg took 5-33.

Shaun Dodson (66) and Scott Metcalfe (50 not out) led Blunsdon to 236-5 against Hinton Charterhouse 2nd, which proved just enough for a two-run success as James Mundy (3-45) helped stop the reply at 234-8.

Division Seven

WARMINSTER 3rd earned a three-wicket success against Christian Malford, who amassed 221-9 with Tom Edmonds scoring 57 and Wayne Massingham 43.

Callum Widdows’ 82 and 62 from Mark Turner saw them home for the loss of seven wickets.

Division Eight

TWELVE year old Cameron Oliver took a magnificent 7-0 in 5.1 overs for Swindon B, who dismissed Corsham 4th for just 39 in their five-wicket win.

Nathan Dunford blasted 186 of Chippenham 4th’s 320-8 against Westbury 3rd, Matt Chapple contributing 56.

Despite 110 not out from Adam Pothecary, Westbury ended on 226-8 in reply.

Division Nine

RITESH Pal scored 40 of Trowbridge 4th’s 70 all out against Wanborough, for whom James Crockett took 6-10 in 6.4 overs, Wanborough getting home in the reply despite the loss of six wickets.
