TROWBRIDGE-based Ben Psaila completed a clean sweep at the Calne Aquathlon Series this weekend by winning his third title and the series outright.
Psaila, represented Team Proto-Col Multisport and his regiment the Royal Signals, only started training with his new team in January.
Since teaming up with Team Proto-Col, the youngster has been shaving time off his previous personal best efforts.
And the win seemed to come as a bit of a surprise for Psaila.
He said: “I entered the Spring Series as a monthly race test to see how my fitness was progressing towards the 2018 triathlon season.
“Since starting to train with Team Proto-Col, I have seen my times tumble and I am delighted with the way my performance is developing.
“To win all three races and the series shows I am in really good shape, so I’m excited for the season ahead.”
Team Proto-Col’s junior academy is now working towards success in their first major open water event at the end of June.
The LPS Events Bowood Triathlon will follow a series of open water coaching sessions for juniors aged eight and above.
With the aim of building confidence, the sessions will be led by experienced open water coaches in a managed lake environment.
The first session takes place on Sunday, June 3.
