WARMINSTER’S bowlers were the stars of the show again this week as they powered to their fifth consecutive WEPL Wiltshire win.

Their faultless start to the league campaign has them in second place, behind Royal Wootton Bassett who are also five from five.

Last weekend, Pete Hickerton’s troops were away to Marshfield, who had also made a promising introduction to the term, with one defeat prior to the weekend.

Hickerton won the toss and opted to field, which came as no surprise given the recent form of his bowling line-up and the muggy conditions at Broadleys.

The Warminster skipper made the right decision as Marshfield were soon dispatched for 125.

Wickets were spread right through their bowling order. Dominic Webb will take most of the plaudits as he came away with three.

However, Tristan Lundqvist chipped in with two, in addiction to solitary efforts from John Powell, Elliot Hooper and Hickerton.

With the bat, Warminster did what they had to and whipped up a total of 127-5 with not too much resistance.

Number four Brad Parry was the top scorer for the away side as he notched an unbeaten 38, guiding Warminster to to their total and their fifth win of the campaign.

In their next fixture, Warminster return home and welcome WEPL Wiltshire strugglers Marlborough.

While Warminster go on the hunt for win number six, Marlborough, who have lost all but one of their contest, will look for back-to-back victories for the first time.
