LUKE Evans took his maiden five-wicket haul in Minor Counties cricket, but his Wiltshire teammates also found batting tough on day one of their three-day Unicorns Championship Western Division clash against Dorset today.

The home side won the toss and went in to bat at Sherborne School but were soon in trouble at 28-4 before Scott Currie (35) and Josh McCoy (29) put up some resistance.

Wickets continued to fall with South Wilts' seamer Evans taking 6-55 and Tahir Afridi 2-20 before Dorset's no 10 James Hayman scored 46 from 52 balls before the innings was ended at 170 with one ball of the 55th over left.

Wiltshire too lost early wickets in the reply, as well as Uzi Qureshi to injury before skipper Ed Young hit 35 and Afridi 28 to get their side to 130-6 at stumps.
