CHIPPENHAM came out looking for a win to boost themselves and with great teamwork they were rewarded.
Despite a change in positions, Chippenham were able to settle into the game quickly with Laura Kelly and Flo Chapple combining well in midfield and driving forward into Marlborough's half.
Keeping the pressure on, Chippenham camped out in Marlborough's 25 and they were rewarded with an early short corner.
With Katie Roberts injecting the ball in hard to Ann Morgan, a straight strike followed and went straight past Marlborough's defence to give Chippenham an early 1-0 lead.
Chippenham continued to work hard with Emma Green, making fantastic tackles and blocking Marlborough's attack down the left.
Goalkeeper Sian Rhys-Price was also forced to work hard when Marlborough managed to get a series of three successive strikes on goal, but her quick reactions left them empty-handed.
With confidence high, Chippenham built up their attack again with Mary Derrick able to slot two further goals before half time half time.
The second half was much quieter but still required Chippenham to fight hard.
They were not able to come away with any additions to the scoreline but superb running back from Leigh Page and quick runs on defensive short corners by Cara Smith saw Marlborough again walk away from a series of attacks with nothing.
As the last five minutes approached, Chippenham were down to 10 players due to injury but pulled together, defending well and retaining a clean sheet.
Players of the match were Cara Smith and Leigh Page
Chippenham: Sian Rhys-Price (GK), Laura Kelly, Mary Derrick, Cara Smith (captain), Sunniva Petersen, Hannah Cox, Ann Morgan, Flo Chapple, Kate Potter, Katie Roberts, Emma Green, Leigh Page.
