WARMINSTER were made to suffer on their return from a six-week lay-off as Dorset & Wilts One South leaders Bridport ran out comfortable winners.

In the first 15 minutes the contest was very much even with neither team managing to gain a stranglehold in the contest.

The Amber Blues were nearly the first team on the scoresheet when centre Alex Payne broke through the Bridport defence and offloaded to his supporting teammates, but they were unable to execute the scoring chance.

This proved to be the only time Warminster really looked like scoring and Bridport scored their opening try from a charged-down kick that was not cleared.

Warminster never really recovered and the visitors led 12-0 at half time.

The second half was a similar story, Warminster running into a rock-solid Bridport defence before the visitors added three more tries.
