BOTTOM side Vale of Pewsey turned the formbook upside down when they defeated second in the table Calne Town 1-0 at the Recreation Ground writes RAY BURROUGHS.

Boosted by a few members of their inactive senior side, Pewsey more than held their own in a closely-fought first half and had a few chances to have gone in at the break in front.

After the interval it was the visitors who just about had the edge until 15 minutes from time when the ball rebounded to Adam Field, who found the net with stunning 20 yarder to give the home side a welcome three points.

Corsham Town Reserves pulled six points clear at the top of the Premier Division table with a comfortable 4-0 win at Wroughton, all the goals coming in the first 45 minutes.

James Lye converted an early penalty to put the leaders in front, followed by two well-taken goals from Simon Gray.

The home side continued on top in the second half and a strike from Craig Townsend made sure of a place in the second round of the competition.

FC Chippenham Youth's game against Blyskawica, Marlborough Town's home game with Chalke Valley and the game between Purton Redhouse and AFC Bradford were all postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

In Division One, Marshfield turned in a good performance to crush Ramsbury 6-1 and leaders Sanford made it 16 wins from the same number of games to head the table by seven points from second placed Ludgershall Sports.
