TROWBRIDGE'S Chloe Davies, 12, clinched second place in the women’s multi-disability 200m freestyle final at the British Gas ASA National Youth Championships in Sheffield on Wednesday.
Davies touched home in 2:20.21, behind Aquabears Natalie Massey – who is more than 10 years her senior.
The youngest in the final by three years, Davies had qualified second fastest in the heats in 2:21.33.
Teammate Aaron Moores finished fifth in the final of the men’s multi-disability 200m freestyle in 2:10.91 The 17-year-old had clocked 2:11.40 in the heats, also finishing fifth fastest.
Rachel Williams qualified seventh for the final of the girls 16/18 Yrs 200m individual medley.
She also clocked 2:17.74 in the heats of the 200m backstroke, while finishing ninth, going on to finish seventh in the semi finals.
The Melksham swimmer, 17, clocked 2:19.77 to qualify for the final, which was due last night.
On a busy first day of action, Williams also finished 10th in the 200m backstroke semi final, clocking 2:17.97, missing out on a final berth by almost four-tenths of a second.
