SAM Gooding was delighted to see his Westbury United side keep a rare clean sheet as they notched up successive victories for the first time this season .
Gary Tugwell and Luke Stanley combined midway through the first half to set up Mark Young, who powerfully fired home the only goal of the game and his third in as many games.
“It was nice to see us keep a clean sheet because it’s only our third one so far this season,” said joint-manager Gooding.
“It was a good performance and we restricted the opposition to long range shots and there wasn’t a proper chance for them in the 90 minutes.
“All 11 players worked hard, especially in the second half where we didn’t have the ball for most of it.
“The points were much needed because of our league position and it would be great if we could get three wins in a row, all at home, this weekend but we know it’s going to be a tough game.”
United host Hengrove Athletic tomorrow and will be without Matt Mead and Stephen Fox.
