WARMINSTER slipped to their first Dorset & Wilts One South defeat since September as they lost ground on leaders Weymouth.
A swirling crosswing and driving rain put paid to the Amber and Blues hopes of a free-flowing running game and erros blighted the contest.
Warminster took the lead when scrum-half Jason Sprangle pounced on a mistake from the Dorset fly-half, hacked through and won the foot race to touch down, before adding the conversion.
Dorset hit back in the second half with a well-worked backs move, but the conversion attempt hit the post.
With three minutes left Dorset snatched the game with a try in the corner, a superb conversion confirming Warminster’s defeat.
