WHITLEY’S Ellie Still saw off the big boys to win one of the top sections at the Portman BE (British Eventing) one day event at Tollard Royal near Salisbury.
The youngster led the Open Novice section on her long-time partner Majestic Mind, finishing more than five marks clear of the field on a good dressage score of 25.5, with Georgie Spence, Nicholson and Jonelle Richards all behind.
Kitty King was busy with eight rides at the event, five finishing in the money with the best result coming in a BE100 section, which she won on the new seven year old Anxiom.
She was second in another BE100 section, where just half a mark split the top four riders, on Ballinagore Black.
Her other placings were thirds and fourths on Novice rides Alive and Argentinus and a fifth on BE100 debutant Mo Cuiske.
Clayton Fredericks, the Little Cheverell based Australian Olympic rider, headed the top Intermediate Novice section on eight year old Mr Sydney Rocks.
