3:30pm Monday 17th September 2012 in Sport
THE only game in Division Two saw leaders Staverton drop their first league point of the season after being held to a 3-3 draw by Chippenham West End in a keenly-fought match played at Atworth.
Staverton took the lead after just two minutes when Jason Povey pounced on a through ball and beat the West End keeper.
Six minutes later Povey added a second with a well-taken headed goal.
West End fought back hard and pulled one back after 20 minutes when Phil Mellor headed in from a West End corner.
West End piled the pressure on a lacklustre Staverton side in the second half and were rewarded with an equaliser after 56 minutes when Scott Nash headed in from a corner.
Staverton struggled to contain a rampant West End side who took the lead eight minutes later when Carl Britton converted from the edge of the penalty box.
Staverton fought back and a minute later were on level terms when Jason Povey was brought down in the penalty box and Levi Woods converted the spot kick.
Both sides fought hard in the last 15 minutes to grab a winner but the game ended in a hard-fought draw.
