RUGBY: Swanage & Wareham 2nd 13 Westbury 13

WESTBURY ended their run of defeats in Dorset & Wilts One South – although a late penalty robbed them of a first league win of the season.

Coach Michael Bamsey was forced into changing his team for the fourth game in a row but they made a bright start as wing Chris Lanfear booted a penalty.

Full-back Nigel Kershaw scored the first try, a fine effort from his own 22 that finished under the posts, Lanfear converting.

However, the visitors switched off allowing Swanage two converted tries to tie the score at 10-10 by half time.

Westbury domination at the set piece brought its rewards after half time as Lanfear nudged them ahead with his second penalty.

Despite putting pressure on in the scrum, Swanage relieved the pressure and won the penalty that allowed them to draw the match.
