HOCKEY: Wilts lose in Bristol

WEST Wilts remain without a point after their second match in the Davis Wood League Championship ended in a 3-1 defeat at Bristol UWE Despite dominating the early possession, Wilts found themselves trailing by a goal at half time.

The pattern continued in the second half as the visitors shipped two more goals.

They finally got the goal their performance merited when man of the match Jamie Batton deflected home one of a series of short corners late in the game.

West Wilts B were also defeated 3-1 by Team Bath Buccs F in East Central One, while the C team lost 9-0 at home to North Wilts.

The D team were 6-0 winners over Chippenham C in East Central Two.

West Wilts Masters team drew 3-3 with Chichester Vets, fighting back from 2-0 down with goals from Rob Robson, who later departed with an injured shoulder, Sam McCabe and Charlie Budgett.
