THE Trowbridge Pensioners match fished at the Cheverell Complex was won by Jim Escott, from Melksham, with 26 lb of carp, roach and perch.

Ken Hayward, from Melksham, was runner up with 10 lb of carp and roach.

Pete Thomas, from Bristol, clinched third with 8 lb 12 oz of carp and skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Bernie Ryan Devizes 7 lb 0 oz; 5. Mick O’Neil Melksham 6 lb 4 oz.

SUNDAY’S Avon Open match was switched from the Bristol Avon to the Kennet & Avon Canal at Whaddon where Graham Tappenden made the journey from Eastleigh worthwhile by taking top prize with 6 lb 7 oz of roach and skimmers.

Gary Etheridge, from Devizes, took 5 lb of roach and skimmers for second, followed by Rick Tomala, from Melksham, with 4 lb 5 oz of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Mick Gale Chippenham 4 lb 2 oz; 5. Rob Kepner Melksham 3 lb 6 oz; 6. Mike Marsden Devizes 3 lb 5 oz.

CHIPPENHAM’S Stuart White won the Wilts Angling Open match at Todber Manor on Sunday with 84 lb 8 oz of carp.

Nick Chedzoy, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, was next with 64 lb 7 oz of carp, followed by Terry Green, from Weymouth, with 48 lb 13 oz of carp.

Other placings: 4. Pete Neate Holt 38 lb; 5. Chris Higgins Yeovil 35 lb 14 oz; 6. Matt Skyrme Trowbridge 35 lb 8 oz.

THE Lavington match at Merritts Lake on Sunday was won by Kevin Grant, from Trowbridge, with 166 lb 8 oz of carp.

Mark Easy, from West Lavington, took 86 lb 12 oz of carp for second, with Tony Steel, from Devizes, a distant third with 12 lb 11 oz of carp and roach.
