COMPETITORS enjoyed good sport in the Wilts Angling Open match, fished on Sunday at Todber Manor, with very little to choose between the top six.
Pete Neate, from Holt, chalked up another fine win with a carp catch weighing 96lb 8oz taken on method feeder fished pellets.
Robbie Kepner, from Melksham, took the runner-up prize with a carp catch weighing 76lb 0oz taken on pole fished pellets whilst Steve Gardner, from Chippenham, took third with a carp catch (68lb 8oz).
Competitors battled the wind in the Airsprung match on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Tithe Barn, with Trowbridge’s Bill Turner taking the runner-up spot with a roach and skimmers catch weighing 5lb 5oz taken on pole-fished pinkies.
Trowbridge’s Kevin Grant won the Blue Circle Open match with a carp catch weighing 65lb 4oz taken on pole fished paste.
