COMPETITORS in the Trowbridge Seniors match enjoyed a fine day's angling at Farleigh Wood.

Top honours on the day went to Jim Escott from Melksham with an all-skimmers catch weighing in at 29lb 0oz taken on pole with white maggots.

Bernie Ryan from Devizes took runner-up spot with a roach and skimmers catch weighing 24lb 4oz taken on pole alternating with red maggots and pellets.

Devizes' Paul Brown clinched third prize with a carp and skimmers catch weighing 20lb 0oz taken on pole fished pellets.

Other placings: 4 Brian Ellis (Lavington) 18lb 4oz; 5 John Blackmore (Lavington) 13lb 4oz; 6. Dickie Bird (Melksham) 12lb 4oz.

Tony Rixon of Mosella again hit the jackpot in the Thursday Open match at Avalon Fishery taking top prize with a mixed bag of carp, skimmers, chub and roach weighing 151lb 12oz taken alternating with pole and waggler fished pellets.

Stuart Barnett of Landsend took runner-p spot with a carp catch weighing 128lb 11oz taken on pole fished pellets.

Alan Jones clinched third with a carp net weighing 97lb 10 oz.

The silvers prize went to Mike Jones of Maver Bathampton with a skimmers catch weighing 25lb 10oz.

In form Pete Neate from Holt chalked up another fine win on Sunday in the Wilts Angling Open match fished at Todber Manor.

Neate took an all-carp catch weighing 114lb 4oz alternating with pole and method feeder fished pellets.

Stuart White from Chippenham took runner-up spot with a carp catch weighing 92lb 10oz taken on pole fished pellets. Dave Bancroft from Trowbridge again made the frame in third place with a carp catch weighing 76lb 8oz taken on pole fished pellets.
